Fly to Lima.
You will be met on arrival and driven to your hotel. Lima is our gateway to the marvels of Peru and you won't have much time to explore the city. Larcomar in the Miraflores district has some great restaurants, shops and cafes with a view over the ocean which, together with nearby Parque del Amor, is very popular with Limenos at dusk.
Transfer to the airport in time for your flight to Cuzco. On arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Afternoon tour of Ollantaytambo.
In the morning there will be a short excursion to the salt pools at Maras which have been used since pre-Inca times. We would be delighted to discuss other excursions and activities such as local markets, a zipwire adrenaline experience or a visit to one of the social projects supported by the Latin America travel industry.
A full day tour to Machu Picchu travelling by train from Ollanta station to Aguas Calientes and by bus to the Inca citadel. Guided tour of the site is included. Overnight at a hotel in the local village or, if funds and availability permit, at the only hotel next to the ruins. For keen walkers we can arrange a 4-6 hour trek to take in the last part of the traditional Inca Trail and arrive at Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate.
Free morning to return to Machu Picchu or to explore the market in the local village. Afternoon train back to the Sacred Valley with onward transfer by road to your hotel in Cuzco.
The capital of the Inca empire is a gem. Your half day guided tour will show you some of the wonders of Cuzco, including the amazing fortress of Sacsayhuaman which overlooks the city. Free afternoon for your own activities but please let us know if you would like to arrange anything special for you: cooking, mountain-biking, riding or perhaps simply dinner and a show.
Free day in Cuzco. This would be an ideal day to arrange white-water rafting or a riding and trekking excursion.
Travel to Lake Titicaca. The Andean Explorer train runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays with an additional service on Fridays between October and April only. Otherwise there is a daily bus service. We will arrange transfers between your hotel and the bus or train station at each end accordingly.
Full day excursion out on Lake Titicaca to the Uros Islands and to either Taquile or Amantani.
Full day's spectacular journey from Puno via Copacabana and the Island of the Sun and across Lake Titicaca to reach La Paz.
Half day tour of La Paz with special insight into the city with the help of a shoe-shiner for part of the itinerary. The tour continues to the Moon Valley. Free afternoon.
Fly to Buenos Aires and transfer to your hotel.
Our city tour takes in some of the key places in Buenos Aires, including the Plaza de Mayo, San Telmo and La Boca before continuing to the Puerto Madero docklands which have undergone complete transformation in the last 15 years into a thriving area of bars and restaurants. The tour ends at the elegant district of Recoleta. In the evening a tango show is included with dinner.
